We all want longer, thicker, fuller, lashes just take a look at the hundreds of mascaras on the market. Lengthening, thickening, false lash look, I’ve tried them all. And don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t dare give up my mascara addiction, but I’ve recently discovered how to grow my eyelashes (and eyebrows) while I sleep and I couldn’t wait to share it with you
So what is this little miracle in a bottle? It’s a product called castor oil! This badboy costs less that $10 dollars and I’m pretty sure 256mL is enough to grow your eyelashes for a lifetime.
choose a good one
Make sure to use the pure, cold-pressed version since refined castor oils sometimes contain other chemicals that may clash with the oil.
how to do it
OK, step one: Take your face off. Give your face a good scrub and take off any makeup you have on those eyelashes.
step two: After washing your face you can apply the castor oil to your lashes. Gently apply the castor oil soaked mascara wand to your eyelashes & brows like you normally would with a mascara or eyebrow gel. I just recently started using an empty & cleaned out mascara bottle but I was using my fingers or a q-tip before that and it worked just as well.
step three: Get your beauty sleep. Cuddle up and let the castor oil work its magic.
step four: Keep at it. unfortunately you won’t see results overnight and will take a few weeks of applying the castor oil to see some results. In the meantime you are deep conditioning your lashes.
why it works
Castor oil is high in omega 9 fatty acids, which are nourishing to the hair, the follicle, and the surrounding skin. Castor oil has a unique ability to be deeply penetrating because of it’s low molecular mass, and this helps it to deliver its nourishment deep into the pores and the hair follicles.
Castor oil is also high in ricinoleic acid. This acid is a natural anti-bacterial agent. Castor oil stops any of that nasty stuff from inhibiting hair growth. Last but not least since it’s a thick oil, it helps to coat the hair and protect it from falling out while you sleep.
